TREE WEEK - A MILLION TREES INITIATIVE
Since 2012, in the context of promoting environmental care and raising awareness about the importance of forests, urban tress and native trees, the Argentine Club of Rome and the Movimiento Agua y Juventud (Water and Youth Movement) developed the Tree Week campaign, with the support of more than 100 organizations.
Tree Week is a campaign for the planting, adoption and donation of native trees that takes place every year from August 24 to August 31, which seeks to reestablish our link with Nature through the practical, symbolic and fundamental act of planting a tree.
The campaign promotes the participation of the entire community, creating networks and strengthening relationships between educational institutions, companies, municipalities, nurseries and different public and private organizations that share the goal of creating a new ethical and environmentally sustainable society.
In 2020 we doubled our efforts and launched the Million Trees initiative, a national campaign promoted together with La Ciudad Posible, with the aim of planting 1 million native trees and strengthening local projects and public policies to enhance the value of urban trees and native forests. The campaign is once again articulated alongside thousands of citizens and public and private institutions.
